Community Investment and Charitable Contributions.
At Merit, we give back to the communities where our members and employees live, work and play. We invest generously in Alberta’s communities through awards, scholarships and grants. In just the past 10 years, Merit has provided over $20 million in tuition refunds and other educational funding supports.
Between 2015 and 2017, Merit invested $2 million into 17 unique high school programs to support students learning about the trades. These projects helped contribute to the diversification of the construction industry by focusing on women, new immigrants and Indigenous students.
In addition to community investment, our big hearted employees make a positive impact by fundraising for important charities acoss the province. We are proud to match every dollar raised. Our employees rally at events like our summer barbeques and various team-building events to raise funds for organizations including Zebra Child Protection Centre, Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Heart Society, Kids with Cancer Society, Kids Up Front, Kids on Track and Basically Babies.
