Ontario WSIB Announces New Financial Measures at AGM
The Ontario government announced a plan to reduce Workplace Safety Insurance Board (WSIB) premium rates for 2022, and distribute excess surpluses from the WSIB fund to participating employers.
Employers will have access to a portion of the WSIB’s reserve according to Monte McNaughton, Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development. Minister McNaughton announced the Ontario government’s intention to introduce new legislation in the fall of 2021 to amend the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act.
